This project captures community college graphic design students at a pivotal moment—on the verge of graduation and stepping into their futures. “Unknown Outcomes” invites them to reflect on how they’ve grown in the program and where they see themselves next.

 

Each student shares a personal statement alongside a pinhole camera portrait. This analog technique requires extended exposure time. Each image can take up to 6 minutes to create, offering students a rare pause for reflection as they sit for their portrait—an intentional contrast to the fast-paced, digital world they are preparing to enter.
